Quick, call Sailor Moon!
Sigh.
Seriously, I don’t want to be “that guy,” but this joke is getting old. WE GET IT. The storm is named Beryl. Beryl also happens to be a gemstone, which is probably what the storm is named after, not Queen Beryl. I know I sound like a buzzkill, but this is a real threat.
And really, NEGAVERSE? FFS.
I’ve heard this joke so many times this weekend, and I think it deserves a reblog to explain to my non-southern (and Non-american) followers.
The reason this joke is comical in that “oh cute” sense, is the storm was named during Florida Anime Experience, which was the first American convention to have Terri Hawks (an English voice actress for Sailor Moon) I sometimes feel I’m old in this fandom, as I’ve seen the same jokes since Middle school about any storm that has any name to do with anything with any fandom, anime, sci-fi and especially horror movies on the spook forums.
Also, please don’t think that I’m tossing aside that a hurricane is a dangerous thing, and I am certain that the storm will cause some damage, mostly it is going to give us much needed rain, as it’s not a high category storm.
